President Obama – Afghanistan = FAIL

Why mince

words?

Obama didn’t keep his campaign promise regarding troop withdrawal and ending the war in Afghanistan.

Instead he caved-in to the Republican Hawks and the corporations making money off this ill-fated invasion.

Who in their right mind thinks that the country called “The Graveyard of Empires” is going to be turned into a Democratic partner any time soon?

Obama let the generals have their way. War is their job, and they don’t want to be out of a job. He sold out to the Republicans hoping to get some cooperation from them regarding his Health Care bill. Talk about stupid.

He hasn’t figured out that no matter what he does, or proposes, the Republicans are going to oppose. That doesn’t strike me as very bright. He needs to understand that the people who voted him in were expecting him to keep his promises.

Those people who voted for Obama are still out there, but their getting discouraged with Obama’s lack of spine!

Welcome to Washington…

  1. It was his own words he had to live up to - for God's sake the left has been pushing the war in Afghanistan and Iran as their preferred vision over Iraq for YEARS now - and Obama himself campaigned on this as a 'war of necessity' - now he had to put his money, and other people's lives, where his mouth is.

But he did not say he wanted to win, far from it. Too bad he wasn't plotting ACORN'S surge - that he could do with the most bloodthirsty glee.

No, what he has done here is commit men to dying for no reason, with no intention of winning - and since he does not intend to win, he should just pull out now. No need for them to die in vain - going in to fight with no backup, with changed rules of engagement that tie their hands, prevent them from defending themselves and tell the Taliban to sit back, save their resources and get ready for the day Obama withdraws, because then they will own the country - they will have won, have already won, by default.

    Shame.

  2. In other words, Dave, it has nothing to do with Republicans. He did this to himself. The left talked themselves into a REAL quagmire - after all their passionate use of the term.

When are you going to realize?

  3. I don't know how you can say it has nothing to do with Republicans Rose...

Who do you think got us in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Facts are facts. Bush & his party got us into this quagmire. They lied about the reason to invade Iraq. They never had a plan to "win the war" in Afghanistan. Not even an outline.

If McCain would have been elected what do you think he would have done? That's right: sent troops over there. He said so recently, praising Obama for doing so. but he was critical of him setting a timetable.

The point is we invaded a country. We've murdered thousands of their civilians and have turned their country into a training ground for every crazy raghead in the world to come too!
Our military being there is the best recruiting poster the bad guys could ever ask for.

Win the war? What is winning? Does anyone really believe we're going to westernize that country? We're fighting the Taliban (who we once supported and called patriots)and calling them terroists because they want their country back. The guys we should be chasing are in Pakistan - Bin Ladin & the Boys.
ALL REPORTS have put his boys at last than 100 soldiers in the entire country of Afghanistan.

It goes on and on. Just remember who we have to thank for it...the Republicans. You can't deny historical facts Rose. No matter how partisan you've become.
At least I hope you aren't going to ignore facts...
