U.S. workers caught in vicious cycle

They work harder, get paid less and still lose colleagues

“Millions of Americans pressured by a pair of forces that economists say are boosting productivity as companies large and small have slashed payrolls. At the same time, they’re asking their remaining workers to pick up the slack left by their former colleagues in a quest to squeeze more profit from every hour worked.

So far, it seems to be working for companies, at least. For workers and their families? Not so much.”
