What is going on with the state of Texas?

It looks like the state of Texas is becoming an intolerant island in the middle of the nation.

Just look at what they’ve been up to this year:

Texas School System: 1) Banning books 2) Rewriting history to fit extreme Christian values, and ignoring pieces of history that show the white man’s cruelty to native Americans and other minorities since we became a nation.

Texas Oil Industry: Despite the fact that the other 49 states realize greenhouse gas rules are necessary, Texas is plain refusing to comply. This is how strong the Texas Oil lobby is – it runs the state and influences any efforts to make it comply with national safety standards.
