Rick Perry got big cheers during last week's debate for the record 234 executions in Texas under his watch. While it's true that his predecessor had only 152 executions, Gov. George W. Bush racked them up during just six years compared to Perry's eleven. So Perry had better get on the ball if he wants to lead in executions per year. With only two scheduled for this coming week, he needs about 43 more by the end of the year to pull ahead. Now, relations between Perry and the Bush camp have sometimes been warm and other times not so much, but if he does end up with an endorsement, it might go something like this.
