Bad Work Behavior: House reps looking at porn

Every employee who’s had to deal with a bad boss, monotonous task, or looming deadline has looked for ways to blow off steam and make work a little more bearable. Sometimes, though, things can go too far.

Last week, the House of Representatives voted to block online pornography from all government PCs, following reports that regulators were spending work time surfing porn sites even as they failed to prevent major catastrophes.

In the SEC, employees were spending hours at a time ogling X-rated material as the stock market melted down. And regulators tasked with ensuring safe offshore drilling practices were doing drugs and downloading porn before the Deepwater Horizon Rig exploded in the Gulf. They're not the first, of course. Illegal, immoral, and just plain stupid workplace shenangians have been well reported.
