Former Sen. Rick Santorum became the latest Republican to formally declare for the 2012 presidential nomination today.
Not a smart move. He’s got about as much chance of winning as bin Laden does of returning from the dead.
Smart Boy Santorum lost his last Senate race (to Bob Casey) by 18 whopping points. This race is for the presidency. The only thing that’s changed between now and then, is he hasn’t gotten any smarter!
He doesn’t make a very credible case for the White House now does he? Asked why he lost so badly in his last race, Santorum responded by saying he has stuck to his core conservative principles. Translation; “Either no one believed him, or reality (his record) ruined his chances. He blames his loss in 2006 on a poor electoral climate for Republicans. What? Does he think it’s any better now for the GOP?
To show he meant business, Smart Boy strapped on a pair of boxing gloves for a photo op. Afterwards, photographers were quickly hustled out of the room as his aides tried to unlace the knots in his boxing gloves. An effort that eventually left Santorum whining about the circulation being pinched in his pinkies and his staff being filled with disgust.
“Not very Smart” had this to say; “We're going to be in this race, and we're in it to win" on ABC's "Good Morning America" as viewers nationwide yawned.
