Blotting out the rival's announcement

imagesCA2O2K3S

The rats are starting to jump off the Romney bandwagon.

Mitt Romney's campaign, amid news that its soon-to-be former backer Mike DeWine is expected to back Rick Santorum in Ohio at 2 p.m., moved a planned conference call with surrogates like John Sununu to 3 p.m.

So Santorum's campaign just moved its own announcement to that time as well.

It's process-oriented chess, but it's a also a reminder that Santorum is playing a different level of the game of pushback than the Romney campaign has seen from its rivals this cycle.
